Haku Vodka

Haku is Suntory's rice vodka, made from 100% Japanese white rice. It is first distilled in Kagoshima, then filtered through bamboo charcoal, and bottled at 40%. The name means white in Japanese.

It is crisp and delicate, with a soft sweetness from the rice and light citrus and floral notes.

Haku is the vodka to pick for a clean, elegant Martini. It is softer and rounder than wheat vodkas like Grey Goose; for a Japanese gin from the same house, try Roku Gin.

Suntory's own serve is a Haku Martini with dry vermouth and a lemon twist. It is also excellent in a highball with soda and a slice of lemon.

Rice gives vodka a rounder, softer texture than grain, and it is especially good very cold. Keep a bottle in the freezer for Martinis. It also pairs well with sushi and light seafood dishes.
