Taylor Cooking Sherry is a kitchen wine from the United States, sold under the Taylor name. It's labeled as cooking Sherry, which is a different product from the Sherry made in Jerez, Spain.
It's formulated as a cooking wine with added salt, so it's meant for the stove rather than the glass; taste a sauce before you add more salt.
Use it the way cooks use Sherry in the kitchen: to deglaze a pan after searing chicken or mushrooms, to finish a cream sauce, or to add depth to French onion soup, lobster bisque, stir-fries and gravies. A splash goes a long way.
Against Lustau Los Arcos Amontillado Sherry, Taylor is a salted cooking wine built only for recipes; for deglazing and everyday sauces on a budget, choose Taylor.
Keep the bottle closed tightly after opening and store it in a cool, dark cupboard or the fridge. Add it early in cooking so the alcohol has time to simmer off, and season the dish at the end.
