Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec 2023 750ml

Trivento is a winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Its Director of Oenology is Germán Di Cesare, and its Director of Viticulture is Cristian Linares. Golden Reserve is the winery's reserve-level Malbec.

The 2023 is 100% Malbec from four districts of Luján de Cuyo: Vistalba, Las Compuertas, Agrelo and Perdriel. Wine Advocate's review of the 2023 notes 12 months in barrels and foudres. It is 14% alcohol. It is a separate wine from Trivento's single-plot Golden Reserve D.O.C. Luján de Cuyo bottling.

The winery describes an intense red color with violet tints, tart black fruit and floral aromas balanced by oak, then a sweet entry, round, harmonious tannins and a juicy finish. James Suckling notes fine spices and a touch of cocoa powder over black cherries and berries.

Against Colomé Estate Malbec, Trivento is rounder and softer in tannin; for a crowd-pleasing Malbec with dinner tonight, choose Trivento.

James Suckling says to drink it now or hold it. Serve it at cool room temperature with grilled steak, empanadas or burgers.
