Mi Campo (“my field”) is made at NOM 1437 in the Tequila Valley. The agave is cooked in stone ovens, pressed rather than crushed, double distilled, and the blanco gets a brief rest in French oak barrels that once held Chardonnay.
Expect cooked agave, banana, coconut, sweet orange and green apple with a hint of vanilla, then orange blossom, honey and a touch of white pepper on the palate.
It is a smooth, slightly sweet, fruit-forward blanco at an everyday price, made for easy cocktails, and a good pick if you find most blancos too peppery or sharp.
