Pueblo Viejo Blanco Tequila 1L

Pueblo Viejo Blanco is an unaged, 100% blue agave tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol in a 1-liter bottle.

It is made by Casa San Matías, one of the oldest family-owned tequila houses, at its distillery in the highlands (NOM 1103), the same distillery behind Corazón. The agave is slow-cooked in stone ovens, crushed with a roller mill and distilled in pot stills.

Green apple, fruit and citrus show on the nose, then a smooth, herbal palate with cooked-agave sweetness and a clean finish. Wine Enthusiast's Kara Newman notes lemon peel, anise, violet and a touch of cinnamon.

It is one of the best values in 100% agave tequila: a highland blanco in a liter bottle for about the price of a mixto.
