Redemption Rye Whiskey 750ml

Redemption is a big-rye whiskey: 95% rye in the mash, aged a little over two years in new charred oak, and bottled at 92 proof. It's distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the town that supplies many of America's best-known ryes.

That much rye at a young age makes a dry, lean whiskey with plenty of heat. Oak leads, with coconut, brown sugar and a touch of maple behind it, and the finish is vanilla and pepper. Small-batch bottling keeps more of the barrel's colour and flavour in the glass.

Pick Redemption over Bulleit 95 Rye when you want a sharper, drier edge in your Manhattan; pick Bulleit when you want it a little softer. They're close cousins at a similar price.

Use it in a Sazerac or a Boulevardier, where the spice cuts through the sweetness of vermouth and Campari. Sipping it? One large ice cube takes the heat down without drowning it.
