Yamazaki Peated Malt Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2022 Edition 700ml

Suntory calls peated malt the hidden accent in Yamazaki: a small share of heavily peated whisky in the standard blend adds depth and length. This 2022 limited edition bottles that peated malt on its own, at 48%.

It's gentler than the word "peated" suggests. Bright gold. A subtle smoke with green, herbal notes on the nose; a gently peated palate with earthiness, pineapple and citrus; and a long, complex finish where the peat lingers.

For the collector who already has the Spanish Oak and Puncheon 2022 editions, this completes the set and shows the third piece of the Yamazaki puzzle.

Pour it neat and slightly cool. A few drops of water bring the fruit forward under the smoke.
