Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth

Carpano Antica Formula is based on the vermouth Antonio Benedetto Carpano created in Turin in 1786, and it is now made by Fratelli Branca. The white wines come from Romagna, Puglia and Sicily, and the botanicals include saffron and alpine wormwood. It is bottled at 16.5%.

It is the richest sweet vermouth we carry: vanilla, dried fruit, cocoa and burnt caramel on a creamy body, with a bitter finish.

For a special Manhattan, Antica is the bottle to buy. If you want something lighter for a Negroni, choose Cocchi Vermouth di Torino; for more bitterness, try Punt e Mes.

Carpano suggests it on the rocks, in an Americano or in a Negroni Sbagliato. It is also outstanding in a Manhattan or Boulevardier.
