G4 Blanco 108 Proof is a high-proof, 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 54% alcohol in a 750ml bottle.
It comes from Felipe Camarena's El Pandillo distillery (NOM 1579) in Jesús María. The agave is cooked for 22 hours in stone ovens, crushed by the distillery's mechanical tahona, nicknamed "Felipestein," fermented in open stainless tanks and distilled twice in copper pot stills. G4 uses a mix of spring water and collected rainwater.
The Beverage Testing Institute gives it 91 points, describing a bold, pepper-forward tequila with red and tropical fruit, agave, orange peel and oregano. Agave Matchmaker's reviewer panel scores it 90. Tequila Matchmaker verified G4 as additive-free in 2020.
At 108 proof it is far stronger than the 80-proof G4 Blanco, so a little carries a lot of flavor in cocktails.
