Regans' Orange Bitters No. 6 were created by bartender and writer Gary Regan and launched in 2005. They are made by the Sazerac Company and bottled at 45%. The No. 6 refers to the sixth prototype recipe, which Regan based on a formula from the 1930s.
They taste of bright orange peel with warm spice, notably cinnamon and clove, so they are spicier and more aromatic than most orange bitters.
For an Old Fashioned or a Martini with more spice, Regans' is the orange bitters to buy; for a lighter, purer orange note, choose Angostura Orange Bitters. For a New Orleans classic, see Peychaud's Bitters.
Add two dashes to a Martini, a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned, or use it with Angostura in the same drink for more depth.
A 148ml bottle will last a home bar a very long time. More bar staples are under mixers and bitters, and the rest of our liquor is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery across NYC.
