Siete Leguas Blanco Tequila 700ml

Siete Leguas Blanco is a 100% agave tequila from Atotonilco el Alto in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol in a 700ml bottle.

Siete Leguas was founded in 1952 by Don Ignacio González Vargas and is still family-run (NOM 1120). The blanco blends tequila from its two distilleries: El Centenario, where a mule-drawn tahona crushes the agave and it ferments with the fibers and wild yeast, and La Vencedora, which uses a roller mill. Both cook in brick ovens and distill in copper pot stills.

The flavor runs to citrus zest, dill, tropical fruit and black pepper, with a clean, saline finish. Wine Enthusiast's Kara Newman calls out bold, zesty, savory aromas, lemon peel and a mouthwatering saline finish. Siete Leguas joined Tequila Matchmaker's confirmed additive-free brands, as Punch reported in 2023.

Siete Leguas made Patrón's tequila in that brand's early years; its own blanco is the more traditional, peppery highland style.
