Tierra de Ensueno Blanco Tequila 750ml

Tierra de Ensueño Blanco is a 100% agave tequila from Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 42% alcohol in a 750ml bottle.

It is made by Master Distiller Sergio Cruz and Master Blender Oscar Vásquez Camarena (NOM 1580). The agave is cooked in brick ovens, crushed with a roller mill, fermented in open stainless tanks and distilled twice in copper pot stills. The blanco then rests briefly in barrels that held wheated bourbon, which adds a soft vanilla edge.

Expect cooked agave and sweet vanilla, with a round, easy finish. VinePair (Aaron Goldfarb) gives it 91 points.

If you find unaged blancos too sharp, this barrel-rested style is a gentler place to start, and at 42% it still has plenty of agave flavor.
