Admiral Nelson Spiced Rum

Admiral Nelson's Premium Spiced is owned by Heaven Hill, the family distiller in Bardstown, Kentucky, which bought the brand in 2011 from Luxco of St. Louis. It is bottled at 35%, or 70 proof, the same strength as the best-known spiced rums.

It is sweet and mild, with vanilla, toasted marshmallow, caramel and a little allspice and nutmeg.

It is built for a rum and cola over ice with a wedge of lime. It also works in a large batch of punch with orange and pineapple juice, or with ginger beer.
