Ardray Blended Scotch Whisky 700ml

Ardray is a new-style blended Scotch from Suntory Global Spirits, the company behind Laphroaig, Bowmore and Ardmore. It launched in 2023 in London, Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai, and blends malt and grain whiskies from the Highlands, Lowlands and Islay.

It's bottled at 48%, strong for a blend, and the strength gives it real weight. There's citrus, flowers and vanilla custard on the nose, with smoke, dark chocolate and charred oak coming through on the palate, and a long, warm finish of ginger and pepper.

Pick it if you think blends are too soft: it drinks more like a big single malt. If you like the smoke, our peated Scotch page has the Islay malts that give blends their peat; for a classic blend at a similar price, try Johnnie Walker Green Label.

Its strength makes it ideal for a whisky highball: a tall glass of ice, 1 1/2oz Ardray, very cold soda and a twist of grapefruit.
