Bodegas El Nido El Nido Jumilla 2022 750ml

El Nido is the top wine of Bodegas El Nido in DO Jumilla, Murcia, a joint project between the Gil family of Juan Gil and Australian winemaker Chris Ringland. Production is about 5,000 bottles a year.

Retailers give the 2022 blend as 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Monastrell, a Cabernet-led take on a region best known for Monastrell, though one review quoted by a retailer reverses the split. It's fermented in stainless steel, goes through malolactic in barrel, and ages about 23 months in new French and American oak, according to the Parker review quoted by Hedonism. It's bottled without fining and with little filtration, and sealed with a cork.
