Buchanan's Special Reserve is the 18-year-old in the range James Buchanan started in 1884, a blend in which every malt and grain whisky has spent at least 18 years in oak. It's made in Scotland by Diageo and comes in the brand's dark, squat bottle.

Those extra years over the DeLuxe 12 show as depth rather than smoke. It's round, creamy and sweet, with a long, gentle finish. It's bottled at 40%.
