Poli Sarpa di Poli Grappa 700ml

Sarpa di Poli is a young grappa from Poli Distillerie in Schiavon, near Vicenza in the Veneto, a family distillery founded in 1898. It is distilled from Merlot and Cabernet pomace in copper batch stills heated by steam, and bottled at 40% without wood ageing.

Sarpa is the local dialect word for pomace, the skins and seeds left after winemaking. The grappa is clean and fragrant, with a dry finish.

For a clean, modern grappa to finish a meal, Sarpa di Poli is the one to buy. For a South American grape spirit, compare Santiago Queirolo Pisco; for a fruit brandy, try Willm Kirsch.

Serve it slightly chilled in a small tulip glass after dinner, or add a splash to espresso for a caffè corretto.
