Willm Cherry Brandy Kirsch d'Alsace 375ml

Willm is a family estate in Barr, Alsace, founded in 1896 at the foot of the Kirchberg de Barr grand cru vineyard. Its Kirsch d'Alsace is a clear cherry brandy, and the Kirsch d'Alsace rules require it to be made entirely in Alsace, from sour or wild cherries, and bottled at 45% or more.

Kirsch is distilled from fermented cherries with their stones, which gives a dry, intense cherry aroma with a hint of almond.

For baking, fondue or a digestif, this is the classic French kirsch; for a Balkan plum brandy, compare Žuta Osa Slivovitz. For apple brandy, try Menorval Calvados.

Serve a small measure chilled after dinner, add a splash to cheese fondue, or use it in Black Forest cake.
