Nikka Discovery Miyagikyo Aromatic Yeast Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2022 750ml

The 2022 Nikka Discovery releases looked at yeast, and this Miyagikyo was fermented with a strain that gives a peach-like aroma, pushing the distillery's soft, fruity style even further.

Yeast creates many of the fruity compounds in new spirit, and here it shows: ripe peach on top of Miyagikyo's elegant, gentle malt. Nikka blended it carefully so the new aroma sits with the house style rather than over it. It's bottled at 47%.
