Nikka was founded by Masataka Taketsuru, who learned whisky making in Scotland, and runs two distilleries. Yoichi, on Hokkaido, makes bold, smoky single malt; Miyagikyo, near Sendai, makes softer, fruity malt. We carry Nikka From the Barrel, Coffey Grain, Yoichi and Miyagikyo single malts and Nikka Coffey Gin, plus Discovery and anniversary limited editions when we can get them.
Tip: Nikka Coffey Grain makes a great highball with cold soda water and a lemon twist. From the Barrel is strong, so a single ice cube helps. Limited editions arrive in small numbers.
