Ron del Barrilito 3 Stars Rum 750ml

Ron del Barrilito 3 Stars comes from Hacienda Santa Ana in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where Pedro Fernández founded the house in 1880. It is a blend of rums aged 6 to 10 years in Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at 43%, with no artificial flavoring or coloring.

It is buttery, mellow and wood-forward, with brown butter, roasted nuts, fig and almond, and tropical fruit on a long finish.

This is the Puerto Rican rum to sip. It is older and richer than Ron del Barrilito 2 Stars, and far drier than most rum from the island; for another sherry-cask rum, compare Brugal 1888.

The producer suggests it neat, with a splash of water, or over ice. It also makes an excellent rum Old Fashioned, where the sherry-cask nuttiness and fruit show through.
