Frontera Sauvignon Blanc 1.5L

Frontera is the everyday range from Concha y Toro, Chile's largest wine producer, and this magnum of Sauvignon Blanc is built for parties.

The grapes come from Chile's Central Valley. About a third is picked by hand in March, and the wine ferments in stainless steel for two months to keep its freshness. There's no oak. Marcelo Gangas makes it, and the wine is produced and bottled in Chile by Viña Concha y Toro.

The winery describes a bright greenish-yellow color, citrus and fresh pear aromas, and a light, crisp, well-balanced palate.

If you'd rather have a New Zealand style with more punch, try Oyster Bay; for filling a lot of glasses at a low price, buy the Frontera magnum.

Pour it with seafood, fish in a light sauce or salads, and serve it well chilled. A 1.5-liter bottle pours about ten glasses.
