Giffard Creme de Pamplemousse Rose 750ml

Giffard makes this pink grapefruit liqueur in France by infusing the zest of pink grapefruit, and bottles it at 16%. Its full name is Crème de Pamplemousse Rose.

It smells like fresh grapefruit juice, zesty and a little floral. The palate balances bitterness, acidity and fruit, with a zesty note at the end. It is bright rather than sweet, so it lifts a drink without making it cloying. A little in a glass of rosé makes an easy aperitif.

This is the bottle for a Paloma with real grapefruit character, or a spritz that is not orange. Next to Cointreau in a Margarita, it gives a pink, more bitter twist.

Giffard suggests topping it with dry white, rosé or sparkling wine, or mixing an Electric Raspberry with pomegranate syrup. It is also lovely with gin and tonic.
