Tanqueray London Dry uses just four botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice. Charles Tanqueray first distilled it in Bloomsbury, London, in 1830, and today Diageo bottles it at 47.3%.
The short recipe makes it one of the most juniper-forward gins on the market: bold pine, a little spice, a candied-peel finish and enough strength to stand up to any mixer.
For a dry Martini or a gin and tonic that tastes of gin, this is the benchmark. If you prefer fresh citrus, step up to Tanqueray No. Ten; if you want a lower-strength London Dry, compare Beefeater.
Tanqueray recommends it for a Dirty Martini. It is also a classic choice for a Negroni or a Tom Collins.
We stock it in 375ml, 750ml, 1-litre and 1.75-litre bottles. More bottles are under gin, and the rest of our liquor is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery in Brooklyn, Manhattan & Queens.
