Ardbeg Blaaack was released in 2020 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, the distillery's fan club. For the first time, Ardbeg finished its whisky in Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand, the country farthest from Islay.

The red wine casks add dark berries and red fruit to Ardbeg's smoky, salty peat, with a hint of spice and a long, smoky finish. It is one of the more collectable recent Ardbeg limited editions.
