The Botanist Islay Dry Gin

The Botanist was launched in 2011 by the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, the Scottish island better known for peated whisky. It uses 22 botanicals hand-foraged on the island, on top of nine classic gin botanicals, and is bottled at 46%.

It is distilled slowly, for around 17 hours, in a Lomond still nicknamed Ugly Betty, with the vapour passing through a basket of leaves and petals. The gin is fresh and herbal, with juniper, citrus, mint and wildflowers, and a long, rounded finish.
