Bulleit 95 Rye Whiskey

Bulleit's rye is the bottle that put a 95% rye mash bill in front of most American drinkers. It came out in 2011 and the recipe hasn't moved: 95% rye and 5% malted barley, distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and bottled at 90 proof as a straight rye.

That much rye shows up straight away as pepper and dry spice, but the whiskey stays lean rather than hot. There's vanilla and a little honey from the barrel, a russet colour, and a clean finish that doesn't hang around. It was built for stirring, which is why so many bars pour it in the well.

If you want the same grain with more depth, step up to the Bulleit 10 Year. For everyday Manhattans, this is the one to keep on the shelf.

Two parts rye to one of sweet vermouth suits its dry spice; go heavier on the vermouth and the rye gets lost.

We stock it in 375ml, 750ml, 1L and 1.75L. More bottles are under rye whiskey, and the rest of our whiskey is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery in Brooklyn, Manhattan & Queens.
