Daou Sauvignon Blanc Paso Robles 2024 750ml

DAOU was founded in 2007 by brothers Daniel and Georges Daou, whose winery sits on DAOU Mountain in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. Treasury Wine Estates bought it in 2023, and both brothers stayed on. José Santos is the senior winemaker.

Paso Robles is warm, so this Sauvignon Blanc is riper and rounder than a Sancerre or a Marlborough. The 2024 is 14.1% alcohol, and it's sealed with a screw cap.

The winery describes ripe pear, grapefruit, lemon zest and cut grass with key lime, guava and melon, then a lush, balanced palate of kiwi, quince, green apple and passionfruit, finishing on melon, lemongrass and white peach.

Against Kim Crawford, DAOU is fuller and more tropical; with fish tacos or Thai green curry, choose DAOU.

Serve it chilled with ceviche, goat cheese, fish tacos or grilled chicken.
