Diplomatico Ambassador Selection Cask Strength Rum 750ml

Diplomático Ambassador Selection is the top of the Diplomático range. It is made from heavy pot still rums aged at least 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, then finished for two years in sherry casks, and bottled at 47%. Destilerías Unidas makes it in very limited quantities in Venezuela, and it comes in a presentation box.

It is clean and honeyed, with coffee, licorice, dried fruit and fine wood, and nutty sherry on a long finish.

This is a gift bottle for someone who loves rich, sipping rum. It is far drier and more serious than Reserva Exclusiva; for another limited Diplomático, see Single Vintage 2013.

The producer says it is best neat. Pour a small measure into a tulip glass and let it rest a few minutes before tasting.
