Viña EcheverrÃa is a family winery near Molina in Chile's Curicó Valley, founded in 1923. Roberto EcheverrÃa has led the winemaking since 2001, working with his children. No Es Pituko means, roughly, "It's not fancy."
This is 100% Cabernet Franc from 20-year-old ungrafted vines on alluvial clay loam, picked by hand. The line is made with wild fermentation and no added sulfites, and it's neither fined nor filtered, so a slight haze is normal. Retailers say it's vegan.
Retailers describe a cherry-red, naturally cloudy wine with black cherry, plum and raspberry, a floral lift and silky tannins on a lively palate.
Against Garzón Reserva Cabernet Franc, No Es Pituko is lighter and made in a natural style; if you want a low-intervention red, choose EcheverrÃa.
A retailer suggests serving it at 55 to 58°F, slightly cool. Try it with roast chicken, empanadas, grilled vegetables or a charcuterie board.
