Josh Cellars Chardonnay 750ml

Joseph Carr started Josh Cellars as a tribute to his father, Josh, and the wines are now part of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits. The Chardonnay carries a California appellation.

It's made in an easy, lightly oaked style. The producer mentions only a hint of oak, and the 13.5% alcohol keeps it from feeling heavy. US bottles have a screw cap.

Josh describes citrus, honey and peach with light oak complexity, and a delicate, bright palate with subtle sweetness on the finish.

Against Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve, Josh is lighter and brighter; if you want a Chardonnay that goes with almost anything, choose Josh.

The winery suggests shrimp, mussels, creamy pasta and roast chicken. Serve it chilled. It's a good bottle for a dinner party when guests' tastes vary.

Don't confuse it with Josh Reserve North Coast Chardonnay or Reserve Buttery Chardonnay, which are separate wines.
