Jura 18 Year is an island single malt from the Isle of Jura, next to Islay. It is matured for eighteen years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then enriched in Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux red wine barriques. It is bottled at 44%.
Jura is a remote island with a tiny community, and its distillery makes a gently smoky, rounded malt. The red wine casks make the 18 rich and fruity, with cooked raspberries, warm spice, rich caramel and crème anglaise, a hint of smoke and a long, smooth finish.
