Orphan Barrel Muckety-Muck 24 Year is a single grain Scotch whisky from the Port Dundas Distillery in Glasgow, and the first single grain Scotch released by Orphan Barrel.
Port Dundas stood beside the canal on a hill above Glasgow from 1810 until it closed in 2010, and its remaining stocks are now rare. Orphan Barrel, which bottles rare and forgotten whiskies, found these 24-year-old casks. Single grain whisky is lighter than malt, and this one opens with a burst of caramel and baked sugar, then crisp fruit and light toasted oak, with butterscotch and vanilla carrying through to the finish.
For a rare single grain Scotch with a story, this is our pick. For a year older, choose Muckety-Muck 25; for an Orphan Barrel single malt, see Orphan Barrel Woven Honor 18.
Sip it neat or with a large ice cube.
We carry it in the 750ml size, in limited quantities. More bottles are under single malt Scotch, and the rest of our Scotch is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery across NYC.
