Auchentoshan Three Wood is a Lowland single malt matured in three types of cask: American bourbon barrels, then Spanish oloroso sherry casks, and finally Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is bottled at 43%.
Auchentoshan triple distils all its spirit, which gives a light base, and the three casks build it into something deep and sweet. It pours golden bronze, with blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange and raisin on the nose, then toffee, butterscotch, hazelnut and cinnamon, and a long, fruity, oaky-sweet finish. It is one of the richest Lowland malts we stock.
