Chateau Mont-Redon Cotes du Rhone Reserve Rose 2025 750ml

Château Mont-Redon is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate bought by Henri Plantin in 1923 and still owned by his family, now in its fourth generation, with Pierre Fabre as winemaker. The family added a Côtes du Rhône vineyard at Roquemaure in 1980.

Importer Frederick Wildman lists the 2025 as 70% Grenache Noir and 30% Syrah from 25 hectares of estate Côtes du Rhône vines around Orange and Roquemaure. It's made by saignée, with the juice bled off after a short maceration, then fermented for more than three weeks at 14 to 16°C with no malolactic and bottled the February after harvest. A Danish retailer adds stainless-steel fermentation and four months on the lees in tank.

The importer says to drink it young for its intense fruit, freshness and bright, translucent color.

Against La Vieille Ferme Rosé, Mont-Redon is an estate-grown Côtes du Rhône from a Châteauneuf-du-Pape house; for a Rhône rosé with more pedigree, choose Mont-Redon.

Serve it chilled and young. The importer suggests sushi, starters, barbecue and deli fare.
