Clase Azul Añejo is a 100% agave tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol in a 750ml ceramic decanter.
Clase Azul México was founded by Arturo Lomelà in 1997, and master distiller Viridiana Tinoco makes the tequila (NOM 1595). The añejo is aged 25 months in American whiskey casks. Each decanter is handmade and decorated by Mazahua artisans, with gold brushstrokes painted by hand.
The flavor runs to orange marmalade, quince, toasted oak, clove and vanilla. Falstaff notes tobacco and wood notes that build a fine base.
It is the classic luxury gift añejo, aged far longer than the Clase Azul Reposado.
Sip it neat in a tulip glass, or display the decanter.
