Pasote Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol in a 750ml bottle.
Pasote was created in 2016 by August Sebastiani's 3 Badge Beverage and is made by Felipe Camarena, of the G4 family, now under NOM 1584. The agave is cooked in brick ovens and distilled twice, and the añejo is aged 18 months in American oak.
Pasote describes roasted agave, vanilla, caramel and smoked nuts, then dried fruit and a hint of coffee. Wine Enthusiast (Kara Newman) gives it 91 points as an easy sipper with honey, vanilla and a flurry of nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon, and VinePair 91.
