Breaking Bad actors Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston launched Dos Hombres in 2019 with maestro mezcalero Gregorio Velasco, who makes it in his village; Constellation Brands took a minority stake in 2022. The espadín is harvested at six to eight years, roasted in a stone-lined pit, crushed by a horse-drawn tahona and distilled in copper pot stills.
Dos Hombres describes apple, mango, sapote and wood with a soft, smoky finish. Wine Enthusiast (Kara Newman) gives it 93 points for lychee and rose petals swept with campfire smoke, and Falstaff also scores it 93.
It is a fruit-forward, tahona-crushed mezcal from the same village as Del Maguey Vida.
