La P'tite Pierre is a rosé from Les Grands Chais de France, a large French wine group, and it's bottled at Landiras in France. It's labeled Vin de France rather than under a regional appellation, so it isn't a Provence AOC rosé.
The blend changes by vintage and market, built around Cinsault with grapes such as Grenache, Grolleau and Gamay, and it's made with modern techniques for freshness. It's a light 11% alcohol.
Importers describe a pale pink wine with redcurrant, strawberry, raspberry and wild herbs and a dry palate with bright acidity. Others note peach and pomegranate.
Against Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses, La P'tite Pierre is lighter in alcohol and $5 less; for an easy, low-key pink to pour all afternoon, choose La P'tite Pierre.
Serve it well chilled as an aperitif, or with salads, grilled fish and light summer dishes. Drink it young, while it's fresh.
