Lunazul Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the Tequila Valley of Jalisco, Mexico, aged in oak and bottled at 40% alcohol in a 1-liter bottle.
It is estate-grown, distilled and bottled by the Beckmann family at their Tierra de Agaves distillery (NOM 1513), and brought to the US by Heaven Hill of Bardstown, Kentucky. The agave is cooked in an autoclave, crushed with a roller mill and distilled twice, then aged six months in Kentucky bourbon barrels.
Heaven Hill describes lush caramel with layers of semi-sweet vanilla, fruit and spice. Wine Enthusiast (Kara Newman) gives it 93 points.
