Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Karia Chardonnay 2024 750ml

Karia is the Chardonnay Stag's Leap Wine Cellars builds from the cooler southern half of Napa Valley, and the 2024 leans on Atlas Peak fruit for its backbone.

The winery is best known for its Stags Leap District Cabernets. For this vintage it drew 52% of the grapes from Atlas Peak, including the Antica Estate vineyard, and 24% from Carneros. The wine aged on its lees in French oak barrels for about eight months, and malolactic fermentation was partly blocked for freshness.

Vinous called the 2024 "heady and racy from start to finish." The importer's notes point to dried mandarin, mirabelle plum and chamomile, with toasted hazelnut and vanilla from the barrels, a creamy middle and a citrus-edged finish.

Choose Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay if you want full, buttery richness; pick Karia when you want Napa polish with more cut and less weight.

Pour it at 10–12°C (50–54°F) in a wide white-wine glass; too cold and the texture goes quiet. It's a natural partner for roast chicken, seared scallops or crab cakes with lemon aioli.
