GlenDronach 27 Year 1990 is a single cask Highland malt, distilled in 1990 and matured for twenty-seven years in a single sherry butt. GlenDronach, in the Valley of Forgue in Aberdeenshire, is known above all for its sherry-cask whisky.
This is GlenDronach at its richest. An old chestnut cabinet opens to sandalwood and beeswax, then date, spiced bramble pie and forest floor; the palate brings orange-laced mocha, spiced mince pies and dark bramble jam on a leathery, velvet texture, and the finish is long and unctuous, with date and prune.
