Bouvet Ladubay Crémant de Loire Brut 2023 is a dry vintage sparkling wine from the Loire Valley in France, bottled at 12.5% alcohol. It is made from Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc.
Bouvet Ladubay was founded in Saumur in 1851, and its cellars are carved into old tuffeau stone quarries. The grapes are hand-picked from more than 100 plots, fermented in stainless steel, then given a second fermentation in the bottle and at least 18 months on the lees.
It pours gold, with fine bubbles, toast, green apple and lemon. Wine Enthusiast's Reggie Solomon named it a Best Buy, noting McIntosh apple, white blossom, citrus and Bartlett pear.
Crémant de Loire is made the same way as Champagne, so it is one of the best-value alternatives for toasts and parties.
Serve it well chilled as an aperitif or with oysters, smoked salmon, soft cheeses, poultry or brunch.
