Casamigos Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol. We carry it in 375ml, 750ml and 1L sizes.
Casamigos was founded in 2013 by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, and Diageo bought it in 2017. It is made at Productos Finos de Agave (NOM 1416) from highland agave cooked 72 hours in brick ovens and fermented about 80 hours with a house yeast blend, then aged 14 months in American white oak.
Expect toffee and vanilla, then oak, tropical fruit and sandalwood with a finish of mild pepper and light smoke. The Beverage Testing Institute gives it 92 points, calling it a chocolate and caramel popcorn treat.
It is a lighter, sweeter añejo than most, and the step up from Casamigos Reposado.
Sip it neat or on a large ice cube.
