High West High Country American Single Malt Whiskey Limited Supply 88 750ml

High Country is High West's American single malt, distilled and aged at its distillery in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. It's made from malted barley in copper pot stills, and it's distilled on the grain, meaning the grain stays in the mash right through fermentation and distillation.

The grain bill mixes base malt with a little caramel malt and a touch of chocolate malt, and the whiskey is aged in both freshly charred and second-use barrels. That gives it a dessert-like richness: warm pastries, caramelised banana and meadow flowers on the nose; melon with honey, caramel, praline and raisin cookie on the palate; and a finish of vanilla cream and maple. It's bottled at 44%.
