J. Roget Brut 750ml

J. Roget is an American sparkling wine labeled "American Champagne Brut". Kroger lists it from J. Rogét Champagne Cellars in Canandaigua, New York. Constellation Brands kept the brand out of its 2019 to 2021 sale to Gallo, then sold it to The Wine Group in a deal that closed in June 2025.

It's made by the Charmat method: the base wine ferments in stainless steel, and the second fermentation happens in pressurized tanks rather than in bottle, which keeps the price low. One retailer lists Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir as the grapes.

Kroger describes toasty yeast, floral nuances and crisp fruit, and calls it medium-dry despite the Brut name. Another retailer adds apple, pear and citrus.

Against Roederer Estate Brut, J. Roget is a tank-method bubbly at a fraction of the price; for mimosas or a party punch, choose J. Roget.

One retailer suggests chilling it to 43 to 46°F and using it as a mimosa or cocktail base. It's also an easy pour for brunch or a crowd.
