Justin Central Coast Chardonnay 2023 750ml

Justin Baldwin planted his Paso Robles vineyard in 1981, and JUSTIN is now owned by Lynda and Stewart Resnick's The Wonderful Company. Scott Shirley leads winemaking. The 2023 is the first vintage of this Central Coast Chardonnay, launched nationally in July 2025 as the winery's first widely distributed Chardonnay.

The grapes come from Central Coast vineyards from Monterey to Santa Barbara. Winemaker Taryn Salazar fermented it in stainless steel and neutral French oak, with partial malolactic fermentation, so there's no new oak. It's 13.5% alcohol and has a screw cap.

JUSTIN describes lemon rind, jasmine, bitter almond and wet stone, then a dry, medium-bodied palate of pineapple, Bartlett pear, lemon curd and honeydew with hints of tarragon and fennel, finishing on green apple.

Against DAOU, Justin is crisper and less oaky; for a fresh Central Coast Chardonnay, choose Justin.

The winery suggests Caesar salad with shrimp or lemon chicken with beurre blanc. Serve it chilled.
