Following this initial maturation, the whiskey was transferred to barrels that previously held Cognac. These barrels were reconstructed with a selection of new heavy toast staves, enhancing the whiskey's complexity. After nearly four months in these specially prepared barrels, the whiskey was bottled at an impressive 107 proof without chill filtration.
