Hakushu 18 Year Peated Malt Single Malt Japanese Whisky 100th Anniversary Limited Edition 700ml

For Suntory's centenary in 2023, Hakushu bottled its 18-year-old peated malt as a limited edition. It's made from malts aged at least 18 years in various casks, bottled at 48%.

Hakushu's peat is never the Islay kind. The distillery's soft mountain water, filtered through granite, keeps the smoke gentle and folded in. A spicy, peppery welcome, then a slow wave of smoke that deepens to reveal herbs and green fruit.

It was the first of the Hakushu 18 Peated Malt editions that followed in 2024 and 2025. For Hakushu without the extra peat, the 18 Year is the classic.

Pour it neat, and give it a few minutes before the first sip.
