Beringer Bros Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Beringer Bros. finishes this California Cabernet for 60 days in American oak barrels that held bourbon, with the insides charred. It's long enough to pick up vanilla and toast without turning into a dessert wine.

Beringer, owned by Treasury Wine Estates, makes the Bros. line as bourbon-barrel versions of Chardonnay, a red blend and this Cabernet. The current 2023 is 14.5% alcohol.

The winemaker describes blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and vanilla cream, then a lush palate with ripe tannins and a finish of toasted hazelnut, toffee and dark-fruit preserves.

It's close in style to Robert Mondavi’s Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet; buy whichever you like better side by side. For a Cab without the barrel sweetness, look elsewhere in our Cabernet Sauvignon.

Serve it cool, around 60°F. Wings, ribs and grilled meats are the right match.
